St. Francis (Pa.) rallies to defeat Bryant 39-28

LORETTO, Pa. (AP) — St. Francis (Pa.) scored 24 second-half points, including 14 in the fourth quarter, to beat Bryant College 39-28 on Saturday afternoon.

St. Francis (1-1) rolled up 475 yards on offense and dominated time of possession, holding the ball for 36 minutes, 14 seconds in the Northeast Conference game. The Red Flash’s defense intercepted three passes.

Khairi Dixon rushed 21 times for 148 yards and a touchdown for St. Francis, who recorded their first victory against the Bulldogs in five tries. A.J. Alexander scored on a 23-yard run on the game’s first possession. He also caught 42-yard touchdown pass. John Kelly was 9-for-17 for 126 yards and a touchdown.

The Red Flash pulled ahead on Dixon’s 2-yard run in the third quarter.

Jeremy Woodson scored Bryant’s (0-2) first touchdown on a 95-yard fumble return in the first quarter.

The Bulldogs’ Mike Westerhaus threw for 128 yards and two touchdowns.
