Fire Saturday night destroyed a house at 30116 N.E. 172nd Ave. in Yacolt.

A woman, her dog and two cats escaped, said Battalion Chief Jeff Stewart of Fire District 3.

The fire broke out about 7:15 p.m. and was fully involved when crews arrived. It burned hot because of cedar shakes, Stewart said.

Three outbuildings were saved, Stewart said.

Fire District 10 and Clark County Fire & Rescue also responded.

Firefighters were on the scene until about 1 a.m. Sunday. The county fire marshal’s office is investigating.

The Red Cross was helping the woman, who was displaced, Stewart said.

County property records indicate the owner is Gary L. Clark and that the house was built in 1976.
