Homeless shelter's block party draws 2,000

Esther Short — More than 1,200 hot dogs and hamburgers were consumed by hungry guests at Open House Ministries' car show and block party on Aug. 25. Organizers estimate that at least 2,000 attended the event, including many former residents of the homeless shelter.
