UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) — An NHL arbitrator has upheld the June 22 trade that sent defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky from the Anaheim Ducks to the New York Islanders for a second-round pick in 2013.

The Islanders announced the decision Wednesday.

The 36-year-old Visnovsky argued that his no-trade clause remained valid even after he waived it in 2010 to accept a deal from the Edmonton Oilers to the Ducks.

Last season, he had six goals and 21 assists in 68 games for the Ducks. He has 117 goals and 333 assists in 771 career games with the Los Angeles Kings, Oilers and Ducks.
