Letter: Logic in single-payer system

Published:

Finally! Thomas Sowell has written something with which I can agree. Maybe he just slipped up or had a moment of clarity, when, in his Sept. 4 column, "Political meddling is what's making health care sick," he wondered out loud why it was incumbent on businesses to provide health care insurance for employees. Why indeed? Because it provides one more pressure point that those in power can use to control us proles. Want medical care with that lousy job offer? Try buying it on your own then. If you have to ask how much it costs, you probably can't afford it.

I'm ecstatic and elated that Sowell has finally seen the light and is ready to embrace the only logical solution to our health care crisis: a single-payer system with very low overhead and predictable payouts to the practitioners.
