Letter: Live within sensible means

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke is going back to the drawing board to try to get our economy back on track. Maybe we could give the banks, mortgage companies and companies that are failing some help.

That’s right, we (the taxpayer) paid for that already and that didn’t work. If you want to get the economy going, how about rewarding those of us who didn’t get us in this situation. Cut our house payments and our kids’ college loans in half, and we will help get the economy going.

It seems that we continue to reward people who make bad choices instead of investing in people who have done it right. Live within your means, save what you can, and stop believing you deserved a new car and bigger houses. In other words, don’t buy into the fake lifestyle.
