Susie Brady has operated O'Brady's at Dollars Corner for more than 14 years, but the restaurant will close for good at 7 p.m. Saturday. The state needs much of the property for the expansion of state Highway 502.

The owners of O'Brady's Drive-In restaurant expect to close the business for good at 7 p.m. Saturday to make way for a highway project through the popular burger stand's site at the Dollars Corner intersection near Battle Ground.

The restaurant at 7111 N.E. 219th St. has been owned by Susie Brady and her family since 1974. It is unclear how many employees will be affected by the closure. The Washington State Department of Transportation condemned the site earlier this year to make way for its $88 million project to widen state Highway 502 from Interstate 5 to Battle Ground.

The project also could affect 27 other businesses and 30 homes in the area. O'Brady's sits on a quarter-acre site at the corner of Northeast 219th Street, which is also Highway 502, and Northeast 72nd Avenue. The small restaurant and property were assessed for $180,050 in 2012 for 2013 property taxes, according to Clark County's Community Development Department.
