Tennessee State overwhelms Austin Peay 34-14

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee State rallied twice in the first half and scored 17 fourth-quarter points to put away Austin Peay 34-14 on Saturday.

Michael German dominated the game, passing for 318 yards and three touchdowns for Tennessee State, which is 3-0 for the first time since 2008. He completed 27-of-36 passes.

Travis Ward caught nine passes for 109 yards and a touchdown, and A.C. Leonard caught five for 82 yards and a score.

German threw 51 yards to A.C. Leonard with 2:12 left for the final score of the game.

Jake Ryan led Austin Peay (0-3), completing 25-of-48 passes for 271 yards and two touchdowns, but he also threw two interceptions. Both of Ryan’s scoring passes went to Devin Stark, who accumulated 124 yards receiving.

The Tigers outgained the Governors only 434 yards to 365 but dominated time of possession 34:35 to 25:35.
