Plant walk set for Burnt Bridge Creek Greenway
Tuesday, September 18, 2012
A free workshop this weekend will focus on plant identification and stormwater management along Vancouver's Burnt Bridge Creek Greenway.
The walk, part of the city's "TreeTalk" series, will include discussion of urban ecosystems and local restoration projects. Walkers will also learn how native water-friendly plants can be used in home landscaping, according to organizers.
Participants will gather at 9 a.m. Saturday. The walk starts and ends at the end of Northeast 65th Avenue, just south of East 18th Street.
People can register in advance for the event by calling 360-487-8308 or sending an email to urbanforestry@cityofvancouver.us.
