ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Sluggers Josh Hamilton and Adrian Beltre have been scratched from the Texas Rangers’ lineup for their game against the Los Angeles Angels.

Hamilton is out with a recurring sinus condition, which also forced him to leave Tuesday night’s series opener in the fourth inning when it affected the center fielder’s vision. It was the same condition that bothered the All-Star back in May.

Beltre remained at his home in Southern California after seeing a doctor about abdominal discomfort. It first started bothering the Gold Glove third baseman before Tuesday’s game, but he batted three times as the designated hitter before leaving in the ninth inning for a pinch hitter with the Rangers down by eight runs.

Hamilton entered Wednesday leading the AL with 42 home runs.
