LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) — McNeese State officials say free safety Malcolm Bronson, an FCS All-American, will miss the remainder of the season after injuring his knee during the Cowboys’ victory at Weber State last weekend.

Bronson, a senior from Jasper, Texas, was injured during the second half of McNeese’s 35-21 win which improved the Cowboys to 3-0.

Bronson has been named all-Southland Conference three times, and could have become only the sixth player in league history to make the all-conference list four straight years, as did his uncle, Zack, a former McNeese and San Francisco 49ers player.

Bronson also was named to watch lists for awards honoring the best defensive player and top defensive back at the FCS level, the second tier of NCAA Division I.
