Is this your horse? Colt found running loose

Will the owner of a stud colt found running at large Wednesday south of Camp Bonneville please come forward?

Paul Scarpelli, director of Clark County Animal Control, said Thursday that a resident found a horse wandering in the area of Highland Meadows Drive and 262nd Avenue at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The resident tied the horse to a tree and called 911. A sheriff’s deputy had no immediate luck finding an owner, so two animal control officers responded and canvassed the area, he said.

Local equine veterinarians and the brand inspector have been given a description of the horse, he said.

The Clark County Executive Horse Council assisted in moving the horse to an undisclosed location.

Scarpelli said anyone with information should call Clark County Animal Control at 360-397-2488.

Given that the county’s voice mail system is down, however, people can also email paul.scarpelli@clark.wa.gov.
