BOSTON (AP) — The Boston Red Sox have recalled third baseman Danny Valencia and right-handers Pedro Beato and Zach Stewart from Triple-A Pawtucket.

Valencia went 1 for 8 with one RBI in four games with the Red Sox after being obtained from Minnesota. With the Twins, he hit .198 with two homers and 17 RBIs.

Beato got the win in his only appearance for Boston after being obtained from the Mets on Aug. 16. He allowed two runs in two innings in an 8-6 victory over the Royals on Aug. 26.

Stewart, acquired on June 24 in a trade that sent Kevin Youkilis to the White Sox, was the starter and loser in his only outing for Boston, a 10-3 loss to the Angels on Aug. 29.

The Red Sox announced the moves on Friday.
