Letter: Top candidates emerge in primary
Saturday, September 22, 2012
Watching the U.S. gymnasts dominate the Olympics made me think how wonderful it would be if Americans could team together and get over the partisan dog-fighting, particularly when it comes to a woman's right to make her own pregnancy decisions.
It's encouraging to see candidates like Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., gubernatorial candidate Jay Inslee, attorney general candidate Bob Ferguson, state Reps. Jim Moeller, D-Vancouver, and Sharon Wylie, D-Vancouver, lead the primary and take that lead into the November election.
Everyone ought to be able to find common ground to work on solutions to prevent unintended pregnancy. In the meantime, I am glad to support candidates who are already doing so.
