South Dakota State beats Indiana State 24-10

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) — Zach Zenner ran for 237 yards and a touchdown to lead South Dakota State past Indiana State 24-10 on Saturday in the Missouri Valley Conference opener for both schools.

Zenner’s 57-yard run in the second quarter gave the Jackrabbits (3-1) a 10-0 lead. In four games this season, the sophomore has run for 895 yards, with his lowest output being 183 in the season opener at Kansas. With 29 carries on Saturday, he maintained his season average of 8.4 yards per rush.

Austin Sumner completed just six passes for SDSU, but one went for a TD to Seth Daughters. Shakir Bell scored the only touchdown for the Sycamores (2-2) on a 2-yard run. Mike Perish threw for 219 yards but South Dakota State held Indiana State to 23 rushing yards.
