Letter: Two issues require two measures
Monday, September 24, 2012
Reading the Sept. 16 story "A charged issue," outlining the content of the upcoming C-Tran ballot measure, I feel that the measure's combination of two completely different projects into a single ballot measure does a disservice to both initiatives. As voters, we are not being offered a real choice. Many may favor one project but not the other and vote "no" on the measure.
If C-Tran truly wants either of these projects to pass, why were the projects not presented as different ballot measures? It appears that each of the projects solves the needs a different voter demographic. By proceeding with an "all or nothing" strategy for this C-Tran measure, I fear that nobody will benefit.
