A Yacolt woman and boy remained in hospitals Tuesday night after a head-on collision Monday evening near Lewisville Park, north of Battle Ground.

Jessica Julson was in satisfactory condition at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. Ethan Julson, 9, was in good condition at OHSU Hospital.

According to a Washington State Patrol release, the crash happened just after 5 p.m. when a 1998 Ford Ranger driven by Wesley S. Chance, 23, of Battle Ground crossed the center line on Highway 503 and collided head-on with a 2005 Dodge Caravan driven by Jessica Julson, 36, of Yacolt.

Julson and her two passengers, Tye D. Julson, 18, and Ethan, were sent to PeaceHealth Southwest. Ethan was transferred to OHSU, and Tye were treated and released.

Chance was also sent to the hospital and later released.

Both cars were totaled.

Troopers were working at the scene past 9 p.m.; the northbound lane was blocked for three hours, from 5 to 8 p.m.

The patrol is investigating. Trooper Will Finn, spokesman for the patrol, said drugs and alcohol were involved in the collision.
