Air quality down again in wildfire-plagued Wenatchee area
Wednesday, September 26, 2012
WENATCHEE — Wildfires that continue to burn in central Washington are hurting air quality in the Wenatchee area.
The state Department of Ecology said Wednesday that air quality in Wenatchee was reported in the “unhealthy” range, while in nearby Cashmere the air quality was listed as “hazardous.”
Most other areas east of the Cascade Range report good quality air.
The agency is predicting that stagnant conditions could return over the weekend, even pushing some wildfire smoke into western Washington.
Meanwhile, firefighters continue to get a handle on two large wildfires burning in central Washington
