Letter: Same-sex unions against nature

The Columbian
Published: September 25, 2012, 5:00pm

Men are created equal and endowed by their Creator with rights. This is self evident.

The harmful activities humans engage in have one thing in common. They offend the Creator by using their faculties in ways not designed by Him. Sex has obvious purposes designed by God. Never mind the Bible for now, just determine the Creator’s purpose. The reproductive system was not designed to be confused with anything other than a man and woman. To use it any other way is a perversion of a good purpose and obviously transgresses nature. A very small minority may have abnormal sexual propensities congenitally, but I believe most converts to homosexuality are recruits.

Same-sex marriage, justified in the name of “equality,” is blind to the perversity that forfeits any “right,” like a law breaker forfeits his right to freedom. Homosexuality violates nature’s obvious purpose. Is this hate language or intolerance? Not from me. With malice toward none, with charity for all, let us bind up the nation’s polarizations consistent with the Creator’s evident purpose.
