Dollars Corner — O’Brady’s Restaurant was a fixture at the corner of 72nd Avenue and 219th Street for 50 years. That all ended on Sept. 15, when the homey diner served mobs of sad fans and then closed its doors for the last time. O’Brady’s is making way for the planned widening of state Highway 502. Owner Susie Brady, whose parents bought the place in 1972 and who’s operated the business herself for 14 years, has been locked in a compensation dispute with the Washington State Department of Transportation over how much she should get for selling the place to make way for a wider road. She’d like to move and reopen, but she needs adequate compensation to manage it, she’s said. The dispute may wind up in court.
