Alabama A&M rolls past Grambling State 38-17

NORMAL, Ala. (AP) — Deaunte Mason threw for three scores and Kaderius Lacey ran for 165 yards and scored rushing and receiving touchdowns to give undefeated Alabama A&M a 38-17 victory Saturday night over winless Grambling State.

In their last meeting, the Bulldogs lost to the Tigers 16-15 on Dec. 10, 2011, in the Southwestern Athletic Conference championship game.

Alabama A&M (5-0, 4-0) is off to its best start since its 1966 undefeated season.

Mason threw TD passes of 32 yards to Resha DeJarnett, 30 yards to Lacey and 32 yards to Bobby Goldsby, all in the 28-7 first half.

Lacey, who had 20 carries, also rushed for a first-quarter 45-yard score.

Mason was 13-of-18 passing for 247 yards.

D.J. Williams was 11 of 30 for 152 yards and one TD for Grambling State (0-4, 0-3) before he was replaced by Frank Rivers (3 of 9 for 52 yards) in the fourth quarter.
