Group aims to promote women’s role in politics



A political action committee created to get Southwest Washington’s women involved in political leadership will host a discussion over cocktails 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Grant House, 1101 Officers Row, in Vancouver.

Guest speakers will include Addison Jacobs, a lobbyist for the Port of Vancouver; Rhona Sen Hoss, assistant director of development at Washington State University Vancouver; and Lisa Shauer, vice president of business development at MacKay Sposito, a Vancouver engineering firm.

H-Roc is an acronym based on the expression “the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world.” The PAC’s members describe the group as nonpartisan. For more information, email or visit the group’s website,
