MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (AP) — Jeff Sinclair accounted for three touchdowns and Greg Langer kicked a 31-yard field goal with 19 seconds left to give Robert Morris a 31-28 upset of previously-unbeaten Lafayette on Saturday night in non-conference action.

The Colonials (1-3) stunned Lafayette (3-1) by taking a 28-7 halftime lead. Mike Neilson returned a Leopards’ fumble for a 5-yard touchdown and Sinclair threw scoring passes to Duane Mitchell and Paul Evans before scoring himself. But then Robert Morris was scoreless until time nearly expired.

Ross Scheuerman’s 25-yard run was Lafayette’s only score of the first half. But quarterback Andrew Shoop (25 of 38 for 268 yards) passed for three touchdowns in the second half. Two went to Mark Ross (13 catches for 151 yards). Shoop’s 10-yarder to Rodney Gould midway through the fourth quarter tied it at 28-all.

But Sinclair led the Colonials downfield again and Langer’s field goal won it.
