New Hampshire 2nd-half rally rips Delaware 34-14

DURHAM, N.H. (AP) -- Trailing by seven at halftime, New Hampshire erupted for 34 unanswered points in the second half and the Wildcats defeated Delaware 34-14 Saturday in Colonial Athletic Association action.

Andy Vailas led the rally for New Hampshire (3-2, 1-1), throwing two touchdown passes and rushing for a third score. He completed 23 of 36 passes for 315 yards. After Delaware quarterback Trent Hurley's 1-yard scoring run in the first quarter, Vailas tied the score with a 32-yard touchdown pass to R.J. Harris in the third quarter.

New Hampshire blew the game open in the fourth quarter. Harris caught another touchdown pass from Vailas, a 7-yarder. Two Mike Macarthur field goals made it 27-7. When Jimmy Owens scored on a 60-yard run, it was 34-7. Hurley's 26-yard touchdown pass to Mike Milburn with 34 seconds left ended the scoring.

Delaware (4-1, 1-1) managed just 234 total yards to 472 for New Hampshire.
