FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) — Keshaudas Spence ran for 123 yards and a touchdown to help Sacred Heart gain its first win of the season, beating Central Connecticut State 34-21 Saturday.
Sacred Heart (1-3, 1-1) got off to a fast start against its Northeast Conference rival as Greg Moore capped off the opening drive with a 1-yard touchdown run to put the Pioneers up 7-0.
After Luke Wischnowski’s 15-yard touchdown pass to Rock Tate early in the second quarter gave Sacred Heart a 14-0 advantage, Juan Duque’s 27-yard field goal put the Blue Devils on the board, 14-3.
Spence’s 34-yard touchdown and a 17-yard field goal by Chris Rogers as time expired in the half, left the Blue Devils (0-5, 0-2) trailing 24-3 at halftime.
