MOUNT HOOD, Ore. — The Clackamas County sheriff’s office says searchers found a missing Mount Hood skier dead Sunday night west of the Ski Bowl resort.
The sheriff’s office says the man was submerged in a creek.
The 23-year-old man was with a group of skiers who had been drinking at a hut Saturday night. The man decided to head down the mountain alone but became disoriented and called a friend. They made plans to meet up, but he didn’t show.
The sheriff’s office says the man was last seen by a group of campers who attempted to direct him to their location, but he never arrived.
Searchers were notified Sunday morning.
