No harm from cargo ship aground in Columbia River

LONGVIEW — The Coast Guard says a cargo ship is on its way across the Pacific after a delay in the Columbia River where it was left aground near Rainier, Ore., Sunday when the tide went out.

Lt. Regina Caffrey in Seattle says the 737-foot Swiss ship Corviglia was refloated and checked for structural integrity. There was no damage, and the ship was on its way Monday.

The Daily News reports the Corviglia took on a load of soybeans at the Port of Longview and is bound for China.
