Ridgefield — Young students in Ridgefield School District’s Highly Capable Program took the stage to perform stories from Greek and Roman mythology. The students from South Ridge and Union Ridge Elementary Schools took the stage during two days of performances in early February, while other students worked behind-the-scenes to prepare sets and sort props. With help from parents, the children even made their own elaborate costumes. The Highly Capable program is meant to provide gifted students with extra learning opportunities. Children are taken out of class three hours a week to participate and must make up the work they missed.
