THE DALLES, Ore. (AP) -- A crash on Interstate 84 just east of The Dalles killed a 47-year-old driver and injured his two passengers late Saturday morning.
Oregon State Police Lt. Gregg Hastings said the car crashed into a guardrail after trying to pass a commercial truck.
The 1994 Oldsmobile came to a stop along the north side of the westbound lanes.
A 70-year-old woman in the front passenger seat was flown to a Portland hospital with serious injuries. Hastings said a 16-year-old boy in the back seat had minor injuries.
Neither the driver nor the survivors wore seat belts, Hastings said.
Trooper Mark Jubitz is leading the investigation.
