A semi-trailer truck that crashed into a pole on state Highway 14 east of Washougal has disrupted westbound traffic on the highway.
The crash, which was reported at 8:39 a.m., occurred at milepost 21 near the Skamania County line and caused downed power lines that were reportedly sparking on the road and started to burn nearby trees, according to emergency dispatchers. East County Fire & Rescue was dispatched to extinguish the flames. No injuries were reported.
Clark Public Utilities crews responded to cut the power and plan to work until 5 p.m. to replace the power pole. Washington State Department of Transportation flaggers will be on scene. Motorists can expect delays.
Eighteen customers in Camas and Washougal experienced outages due to the crash, but their power was restored by 1:35 p.m.
