A buffet and auction to assist in Tyler Burton's rehabilitation will be held 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Chronis' Restaurant and Lounge, 819 Main St., in downtown Vancouver.

Burton is a Mountain View High School graduate who suffered a severe brain injury when he was assaulted on Oct. 28 in Chino, Calif. A member of the Shasta College football team at the time of the assault, Burton nearly died from his injuries.

Money raised during Saturday's event will go specifically to assist with costs of Burton's rehabilitation therapy, according to event organizer Chuck Chronis.

The buffet meal will cost $20. Several speakers are scheduled, and items will be auctioned to raise additional money, Chronis said.

A Tyler Burton Rehabilitation Fund has been established at Sterling Bank. Donations can be made at any branch, with checks made out to Sandy Chronis or Mickey Thompson and "Tyler Burton Rehabilitation Fund" indicated on the memo line, Chuck Chronis said.
