A multiple-vehicle collision Wednesday evening on Interstate 205 northbound, just south of Highway 500, injured at least three and clogged traffic.

At 6:24 p.m., traffic slowed on I-205, and a vehicle in the right lane swerved across all three traffic lanes to the left to avoid a collision, striking a vehicle, said Washington State Patrol Trooper Will Finn. A third vehicle was involved and ended up on its side.

At least three people were transported to a hospital, including two young children, Finn said.

Responding officers had a tough time getting to the scene. A Vancouver patrol car was spotted driving on the grass median to get around clogged traffic.

Initially, all three northbound traffic lanes were blocked, backing up traffic past Mill Plain Boulevard. All three lanes opened around 7:30 p.m.
