Syracuse’s Carter-Williams entering NBA draft

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Syracuse sophomore point guard Michael Carter-Williams has decided to enter the NBA draft.

Coach Jim Boeheim made the announcement Wednesday.

Carter-Williams started all 40 games for the Orange this season. He finished fifth nationally in assist average (7.3) and fourth in steals (2.78) among Division I players, and also averaged 11.9 points and a team-best 35.2 minutes.

Syracuse ended the season in the NCAA tournament semifinals, losing 61-56 to Michigan.

Syracuse finished 30-10.
