Letter: Leave bridge design to the experts

The Columbian
Published: April 10, 2013, 5:00pm

Every weekday on TV news I see slow traffic on Interstate 5. Commuters know about being stuck in traffic.

I attended the Columbia River Crossing town hall meeting in Vancouver. I heard public officials and civic leaders describing the facts. I was persuaded that we need the CRC and its light-rail component. The I-5 Bridge is inadequate now and will be worse with future growth.

Politicians should stay out of it and leave bridge design to professional engineers. It is a good deal for us. I support CRC and would vote for it. I urge others to do likewise.
