INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Chuck Pagano told a crowd Thursday night that peopled must to their plans, no matter the odds.

The Colts coach was talking about his remarkable comeback last year from leukemia. He was one of several inspirational stories at the Brady Sports Achievement Awards dinner, which honored among others three athletes who overcame life-threatening illnesses — Purdue women’s basketball star Drey Mingo, Boonville High School’s Noah James, and Alexandria Monroe High School’s Shanna Kelly — and a fourth, Derek Drouin, who overcame a career-threatening injury to win a bronze medal at the London Olympics last summer.

Pagano also received a special comeback award after giving the keynote address to end the awards presentation.
