TORONTO (AP) — Former NHL star Joe Sakic and Olympic cycling medalist Alison Sydor are headed to Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame.

Sakic played 21 seasons in the NHL for the Quebec Nordiques and Colorado Avalanche and already is in the Hockey Hall of Fame.

He and Sydor were joined in the athletes’ category in the Canadian hall Thursday by curler Russ Howard, Paralympian Andre Viger and the 1992 Olympic champion women’s coxless four rowing team of Kirsten Barnes, Brenda Taylor, Jessica Monroe-Gonin, Kay Worthington and Jennifer Walinga.
