FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas baseball coach Dave Van Horn has suspended pitcher Thomas Altimont following the reliever’s arrest on kidnapping and assault allegations.

Van Horn said Friday that Altimont is on an indefinite suspension, effective immediately.

Fayetteville police say Altimont was arrested Friday morning after officers responding to a call found him allegedly holding a woman against her will.

Altimont is a junior right-hander who transferred to UA from McClennan Community College. He is 1-0 in five appearances this season.

His suspension comes as Arkansas prepares for a weekend Southeastern Conference series against LSU.

Washington County Jail records do not list an attorney for Altimont. He’s due in court for a hearing on Monday.
