CLEVELAND (AP) — The Chicago White Sox have placed second baseman Gordon Beckham on the 15-day disabled list with a broken bone in his left wrist and recalled right-hander Deunte Heath from Triple-A Charlotte.

Beckham, who is batting .316 in seven games, will have surgery early next week and is expected to miss approximately six weeks. He was injured during his second-inning at-bat on Tuesday against Washington and an MRI revealed the fracture.

Jeff Keppinger has started the last two games at second base. Heath made two relief appearances at Charlotte, allowing no runs with six strikeouts in two games.
