Ryan Dungey wins home-state event

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota racer Ryan Dungey won in AMA Supercross’ return to the state Saturday night, beating Ryan Villopoto for his second victory in the season.

Dungey, the Red Bull KTM rider from nearby Belle Plaine, took the lead from Villopoto on the 16th lap in the 20-lap 450SX race in front of a crowd of 48,846 in the first event at the Metrodome since 2008.

Dungey ended Villopoto’s winning streak at five.

In 250SX, Marvin Musquin made it a sweep for Red Bull KTM, racing to his fourth victory in five races.
