The Columbia Springs Environmental Education Center this month will invite volunteers to help remove invasive plant species on its 100-acre facility.

Participants will primarily remove English ivy from the property. The event will last from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 27.

Volunteers of all ages are welcome, including children younger than 16 with parental permission, and children younger than 14 with parental supervision. Snacks and tools are provided, but participants should bring weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes or boots, according to organizers.

Columbia Springs is located at the old Vancouver Trout Hatchery, 12208 S.E. Evergreen Highway. People can find more information at volunteer@columbiasprings.org or 360-882-0936, Ext. 230.
