West Minnehaha — Nickloas Gray “was always willing to help, event those he didn’t know,” according to his mother, Tina. And even though Gray died at age 22 in March 2011, he was recently remembered and honored for that helpful nature by Washington Gov. Jay Inslee. On April 15, Inslee presented six posthumous Gift of Life awards to families of people who saved the lives of 16 others through organ donation. Gray saved the lives of four other people through the donation of his heart, liver and both kidneys. “By being an organ donor, he continued helping others and left a lasting legacy,” Tina said. There are more than 115,000 people nationwide waiting for a life-saving donated organ; go to LifeCenter Northwest, www.lcnw.org, to learn more.
