Letter: Cuts threaten B.G. schools

I can’t think of one person who enjoys paying taxes.

I also don’t think that the voters in Battle Ground are against supporting schools.

On April 23, you have to stand for something; unfortunately you can’t stand for both.

Is this the time to put your foot down? Is this the stand you want to take?

I encourage those who have grievances with the school board, unions or government to put them aside and stand for those who can’t stand for themselves. If the Battle Ground school district’s maintenance and operations levy fails on April 23, $16 million will have to be cut from the district’s operating budget the first year.

This cut will negatively impact students — how can it not? Join me in voting “yes,” a vote that will ensure healthy schools and a healthy community.
