Michigan State guard Gary Harris staying in school

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Michigan State guard Gary Harris has chosen to return for his sophomore season.

He became the first player in program history to be named Big Ten freshman of the year and to be voted MVP by his teammates. He averaged nearly 13 points a game, ranking second on the team.

Harris said Thursday his dream of playing in the NBA can wait. Michigan State coach Tom Izzo says Harris’ future is bright.

Adreian Payne has not announced whether he is entering the NBA draft or coming back for his senior season.
