For what it’s worth: Test tangle-net fishing in the Wahkiakum County stretch of the lower Columbia River was conducted on Sunday.

There were 12 drifts which caught 44 spring chinook and nine steelhead. Thirty of the spring chinook were upper Columbia fish, 10 were lower Columbia chinook and the origin of four was not determined. Nine of the 10 lower Coulmbia chinook were hatchery origin and 27 of the 30 upper Columbia fish were hatchery origin.

Among the nine steelhead, four were hatchery origin and five were wild.

The count at Bonneville Dam was 509 on Saturday and 454 on Sunday, bringing the total to 3,574. A year ago, the cumulative count at Bonneville was 3,420 spring chinook.
