Battle Ground honors its best police, public employees

Battle Ground — The city council and police recognized several outstanding Employees of the Year at its April 15 meeting. Police Officer Edward Michael and Deputy City Clerk Tamara Gunter were named 2012 Employees of the Year by City Manager John Williams. There were nine nominees, all named by their peers. Officers Montie Elford and Clint Fraser were presented with Life Saving Medals for their exceptional efforts on behalf of human life. A commendation medal was given to Officer Shaun Holahan for his exemplary service as a motorcycle officer, and the 2012 Officer of the Year Award went to School Resource Officer Michele Fox.
