Popular comedian stops by Beaches

Columbia Way — Popular Mexican comedian Teo Gonzalez surprised staff at Beaches Restaurant when he stopped in for a bite on his way through Vancouver. Gonzalez was apparently on his way to Seattle for an upcoming stand-up gig — part of his U.S. tour — when he made a pit stop at Beaches. Some of the Latino staff at the restaurant quickly recognized him, Beaches owner Mark Matthias said in an email. The staff eagerly asked for autographs and posed for pictures with the performer, known for his trademark ponytail. Many of Gonzalez’s routines posted on YouTube have millions of views; one has more than 9 million.
