LITTLEROCK — The Thurston County sheriff’s office says a search for a missing Lacey man in Capitol Forest has been suspended because he was seen Saturday with another person.

Lt. Greg Elwin says Scott Garrow was OK when the two were contacted by a state Department of Natural Resources law enforcement officer. Elwin says investigators still want to talk with Garrow and will check out the nature of the contact and try to reach the other person.

The family of the 47-year-old Garrow says his wife dropped him off Thursday and he failed to return Monday as planned. They say he’s obsessed with wilderness survival TV shows and wanted to test his skills.

Elwin says the search was suspended Tuesday night and the sheriff’s office received word later of the DNR contact.
