BEREA, Ohio (AP) — The Cleveland Browns have selected San Diego State cornerback Leon McFadden with the No. 68 overall pick in the NFL draft.

On the smallish side, the 5-foot-9, 193-pound McFadden could start on the opposite side of Joe Haden, the Browns’ top defensive player.

McFadden led the Aztecs with three interceptions and 10 pass breakups last season. He was named team MVP and scored two touchdowns on interception returns. He finished with eight career interceptions.

The Browns passed on cornerback Dee Milliner in the first round, taking LSU linebacker Barkevious Mingo with the No. 6 overall pick.

Cleveland is also working on a trade with Miami for veteran wide receiver Davone Bess. Reports say the Browns will get Bess and swap picks with the Dolphins in the fourth and fifth rounds.
