ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) — The Detroit Lions have selected Mississippi State cornerback Darius Slay in the second round of the NFL draft.
Detroit drafted Slay 36th overall Friday night, a day after taking BYU defensive end Ziggy Ansah with the No. 5 pick. Slay had five interceptions last season and returned one of them for a touchdown.
The Lions have a spot for him to start opposite veteran cornerback Chris Houston. The 6-foot, 192-pound Slay is from Brunswick, Ga.
