FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — The New England Patriots have drafted another defensive back from Rutgers, taking safety Duron Harmon with their second pick in the third round.

Earlier in the round Friday night, they chose cornerback Logan Ryan from Rutgers with the 83rd overall pick that they obtained Thursday night in a trade with the Minnesota Vikings.

Harmon had 50 tackles and one interception last season.

The Patriots already have a defensive back from Rutgers, Devin McCourty. He was drafted in the first round in 2010 and moved from cornerback to safety last season.

Earlier in the day, the Patriots chose two players in the second round. They drafted outside linebacker Jamie Collins of Southern Mississippi with the 52nd overall pick and wide receiver Aaron Dobson of Marshall with the 59th pick.
